GREAT NEW LINK!!! British artist Ian Kirk has created a remarkably clever use for the basic webcam. Ian calls his invention Kaleidocam. It uses your existing webcam to create an ever-changing live kaleidoscope pattern on your screen. This pattern can also be used as your screensaver. You can check it out at:

Brewster Society, a worldwide organization of professional and amateur kaleidoscopes makers. Joining costs 45.00 dollars a year, which buys you the quarterly news letter, the right to attend the annual conventions and many other benefits. The site has information on every aspect of kaleidoscope making and a link list to just about everyone in the world who makes and sells kaleidoscopes.

Dephi Glass, a large glass supply retailer who offers first surface mirrors and a wide range of glass working tools. I've discussed mirror quality with Mr. Don Doak and he believes they are also the best. While the mirrors advertised in their catalog at 12 x 16 inches, I've heard that upon request they may be able to provide mirrors that measure 66 x 24 inches. Delphi glass also offers kaleidoscope kits and packages of glass objects for use as kaleidoscope objects.

Kaleidoscope Artists: There are many great artists making kaleidoscopes. The links that follow were selected because these sights provide pictures of both the exteriors of the offered kaleidoscopes as well as images of what the associated manadalas look like.

Randy and Shelly Knapp: Click on the first kaleidoscope on this page and you'll see a step by step pictorial documentary about how it's made. Very unusual. Other scopes on this page have pictures of both exterior and interior views. Outstanding quality in every respect and very reasonably priced.
